Born in Sachendorf, Germany near Leipzig. Harry came to the US in 1956 and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He studied at MIT, Milwaukee Institute of Technology in Printing, Photography and Publishing. Later he entered RIT and graduated in 1971. He studied Calligraphy with Alexander Lawson and Herman Zapf. After graduation he worked for the Stinehour Press and Meriden Gravure Company as a pressroom manager, phototypesetter and then CEO of the past Stinehour Press. Harry now teaches at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont in their Visual Arts program. He teaches Calligraphy, Typography, Design for Print, and Advanced Typography, along with other various software courses. The software courses emphase design along with learning the program. Harry W.
